RON BARSANO, a Chicago native and acclaimed artist, embarked on his artistic journey with a five-year intensive fine art program at the American Academy of Art in Illinois. Under the tutelage of European-trained masters Joseph Van-den Broucke and William Mosby, the same instructor who shaped the talents of artists like Richard Schmid, Howard Terpning, Gil Elvgren, and Haddon Sundblom. Barsano honed his skills in drawing and painting. Following his formative years, Barsano co-founded the Taos Six in the 1970s after making Taos, New Mexico, his home. His artistic mastery extends beyond figures, encompassing portraits, still lifes, and landscapes that vividly capture the essence of both people and the breathtaking Taos region.
